The Role of 2-[18F]-FDG PET/CT in Detecting Richter Transformation in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia: A Systematic Review

چکیده

Richter transformation (RT) is a condition wherein B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) transforms into more aggressive lymphoma variant. The incidence and the significance of RT detected by 2-[18F]-FDG PET/CT clinical challenge it not widely investigated in literature. aim this systematic review was to analyze published data about potential role detecting RT. A comprehensive computer literature search PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase Cochrane library databases conducted up December 2020. Thirteen studies (1336 patients with CLL) were selected. maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) most common metabolic parameter used detect An SUVmax 5 had an average overall sensitivity 87% (range: 71–96%), specificity 49% 4–80%), positive predictive 41% 16–53%) negative 84% 33–97%). Other variables only marginally investigated, promising results. imaging may play important detection CLL, based on high activity nodal lesions that transformed lymphomas. has for evaluating

The role of microRNA in acute/chronic, myeloid/lymphocytic leukemia

MicroRNAs are small, non-coding sequences that regulate gene expression by inducing degradation or translational inhibition of target mRNAs. These molecules control many intracellular physiological and pathological processes.Abnormal expression of these moleculs has been described in different cancers including hematopoietic cancers. According to the type of cancer and the stage, miRNA’s expres...

CD38 gene polymorphism and chronic lymphocytic leukemia: a role in transformation to Richter syndrome?

CD38 rules proliferation signals in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells, suggesting that the molecule is not merely a prognostic marker but also a key element in the pathogenetic network underlying the disease. CD38 has a genetic polymorphism, characterized by a C>G variation in the regulatory region of intron 1. The working hypothesis is that the presence of different alleles in CLL patie...

Richter syndrome: chronic lymphocytic leukemia transformation into Hodgkin's disease.

r ichter syndrome is a clinical condition in which indolent chronic lymphocytic leukemia evolves into a more aggressive diffuse large B cell lymphoma. Maurice Nethaniel Richter first described this phenomenon in 1928, which was named the “Richter syndrome” in 1964 [1]. Due to the aggressive nature of the disorder, the clinical manifestations, prognosis and treatment differ from CLL1 [2]. Sympto...

focus on communication in iranian high school language classes: a study of the role of teaching materials in changing the focus onto communication in language classes
